Client Story: Christina & Charles

When Christina found out she was pregnant in July of 2019, she visited LifePlan with her boyfriend, Charles, and they soon became regular clients. “I really liked how we didn’t feel like we were being judged at LifePlan,” says Christina, “We could talk about what we needed to without feeling ridiculed for being parents who were stressed.”

The two of them began meeting regularly with Willette, our Friday morning consultant, who helped them set up parenting and safety plans for their home and talked with them about Jesus and His love for them.

Christina and Charles started bringing the 1 year old to our Baby & Me Class and also committed to an extra hour to study and learn,” explains Willette, “I believe they have found LifePlan to be a place to help them experience life with Jesus.”

In October, Charles found out about the Men’s Mentoring Program and started meeting with Carl, one of our male mentors. “Carl gave me information about being a stepparent and a parent,” says Charles, “and he also helped me learn how to handle frustrations in a better way.”

“Charles has been encouraged to look at the relationships in his life, in particular his relationship with Christ. We have discussed how this one relationship should take priority and how it will affect all of his other relationships,” adds Carl.

In February, Carl invited Charles to join him and another LifePlan client at the No Regrets Men’s Conference at The Chapel in St. JosephDuring the conference, Charles was challenged to be “Uncommon” to not conform to the pattern of the world but to be transformed (Romans 12:2).

One week later, Christina and Charles were married.

A lot has happened in Christina and Charle’s lives since their first visit to LifePlan in July. Not only are they now husband and wife, but they have both been baptized and have placed their membership at Pleasant View Church of Christ in Cassopolis.

Says Willette, “Christina is ready to meet the challenges of having two little ones with the help of her husband. She has grown during our time and has recently rededicated her life and family in church. I look forward to watching her grow as we continue our studies together.”
